Jill was bitten by the bowling bug at Hurstville NSW, and in the early 1960’s worked in the industry at Rockdale Bowl.  In 1969 she moved to Melbourne and commenced working at Ringwood Lanes running the ladies morning leagues.

 

  • Around this time in association with Vi Greenhalf she began to promote tenpin bowling on television, and ran leagues in Vi’s name at both Ringwood and Golden Bowl.  She also worked at Squash Bowl Malvern until it closed.

 

  • Since 1972 Jill has been an integral part of the Melbourne tenpin bowling scene having attended CTBAM Annual General Meetings as a league delegate, and taken part in most of the CTBAM City Championships, State Championships and National Championships.  In 1982 she was appointed a Director for CTBAM representing Chadstone Bowl.

 

  • Jill has been a past president of the Women’s Tenpin Bowling Organisation of Victoria.

 

  • She had the privilege of being the Tournament Director of the CTBAM City Championships and of being appointed to the State Committee of which she was appointed the Secretary / Treasurer and Tournament Director.  During her time on the Board she was also appointed a voting delegate to the National Annual General meeting of the ATBC.

 

  • In 1993 Jill was a foundation member of ATBSOV, being the inaugural Treasurer; in 1996 she was appointed Vice President of this organisation.

 

  • In 1994-96 she was appointed Female Vice President of CTBAM.

 

  • Over the 40 odd years that Jill has been involved with tenpin bowling she has always been totally involved with whatever she has taken on giving of the best of her abilities to the betterment of the sport of tenpin.

 

  • Jill was made a life member of CTBAM in 2002.
